We are running Oracle11g (184.108.40.206.4) on Solaris (SPARC) 11.1
There are multiple instances on this machine, so each instance has its own ORACLE_HOME. These are stand-alone (non-RAC) installs.
We are looking at migrating oradata and FRA to ASM disks, and have a some questions.
1) Is there a separate license for implementing ASM?
2) Do we install Grid Stand-alone for each instance?
3) If not, what change do we need to make to running oracle instances so that they can "see" ASM disks?
Reading this document:
"If there are several database instances for different databases on the same node, then the database instances share the same single ASM instance on that node."
Still searching for question 1 and 3...
Answer 1) - No , you don't need separate license.
Answer 3) -
