i have a column that i want to make a primary key
and the values i intend to use on those columns are
please what datatype am i suppose to use
number or varchar2 ?
If I don't misunderstand your question, then I hope you're kidding... v1, v2, v3 into a number column ?
by the way using varchar2 doesn't work
QL Error: ORA-00984: column not allowed here
It's obvious, if you don't use quotes :
SQL> create table test(a varchar2(10));
SQL> insert into test values(v1);
insert into test values(v1)
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00984: column not allowed here
SQL> insert into test values('v1');
1 row created.
I think it's time to read some documentation...
