    10g upgrading failure ..

    GTS (DBA)

      Hello Everyone;

       

      Already i tried to upgrade my database to 10.2.0.4 from 10.2.0.1 but unfortunately  we did not  finish it.

      now we are upgrading to 10.2.0.4  from 10.2.0.1 but getting error.

      i have two databases 

      orclprod:/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1:N

      orcltest:/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1:N

       

      when running ./runInstaller ..

      on  OUI screen ( Product specific prerequisite checks ) .. i am getting error msg as ..

       

      Oracle universal installer has detected that there are processes running in the currently selected oracle home.

      the following processes  need to be shut down before continuing .

       

      $ ps -ef |grep tns

      oracle    5802   901  0 21:27 pts/1    00:00:00 grep tns

       

      [oracle@linuxserver ~]$ ps -ef |grep pmon

      oracle    5818   901  0 21:27 pts/1    00:00:00 grep pmon

       

      [oracle@linuxserver ~]$ ps -ef |grep ora*

       

      $ ps  -ef | grep  ema

      oracle   10336  8132  0 08:18 ?        00:00:59 /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/bin/emagent

      oracle    9852  2452  0 15:04 ?        00:00:16 /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/bin/emagent

      oracle    5908   901  0 21:28 pts/1    00:00:00 grep ema

       

      but i dont  enable  enterprise manger. I dont know how to solve this problem

      help me to resolve this ..

          Hi,

           

          It seems enterprise manager agent is running.

           

          Try to stop this using command:

           

          /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/bin/emctl stop agent


          If this doesn't stop you can kill these process using command:


          pkill -9 9852 2452 5908 301
