I write you since I not can find the TAB called "Update", if I go to the Java control panel under the 64-bit version of JRE, installed under Windows 7 64-bit.
If I go to the control panel for the 32-bit version of JRE, also installed under Windows 7 64-bit (to the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer), I can find the TAB called "Update", and I also can check for the latest version of JRE.
It is possible to enable the Update TAB for the 64-bit version of JRE, e.g. via the Windows registry database, (since I using Windows 7 64-bit, it will be the 64-bit version of JRE their open when I go to Windows 7's general control panel, ans search after "Java".
There is no tab because the 64bit JRE does not yet support AutoUpdate. Once the functionality is added to the 64bit JRE, the tab will be there. Until then you can get the latest version from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html and be kept up to date on releases with the release blog and RSS Feed: https://blogs.oracle.com/javase/category/Oracle/FCS+Release
