I have installed PeopleSoft Campus Solutions 9.0 from edelivery (B35825-62) for learning purpose on Oracle Virtual Box.
OS: Windows 2008 R2 64 Bit
DB: Oracle 11G R2(11.2.0) Server 32 bit, Client 64 bit
People Tools 8.53 delivered with CS 9.0
Tuxedo 11.1.1 as delivered
Weblogic 10.3.6 as delivered
JRockit 4.1 as delivered
I created Demo DB, App server, Webserver as per the People Tools 8.53 Installation guide for Oracle.
DB running, App Server running, Webserver running, only problem is for creating Domain.
PIA booted without any errors using startPIA.cmd. Server is listening.
<BEA-002610> <Dynamic Listener Service initialized.>
<BEA-170027> <The Server has established connection with the Domain level Diagnostic Service successfully.>
The only warning I got is: <BEA-002611> <Hostname "Win2K8PS", maps to multiple IP addresses: 127.0.0.1, 0:0:0:0:0:0:0:1>.
After I invoked the command Boot Domain (peoplesoft) in PIA through psadmin.exe, I am getting the below error:
Starting the domain....
PSAdminException: Unable to start the domain
Cause: com.peoplesoft.pt.psem.toolsadmin.common.utils.AdminException: null.
No errors in the log files. stdout & err files not generated.
I searched a lot on the web but no luck. Kindly shed some light as how to overcome this error.
If needed I will post the log output.

Sorry, but I do not understand what your problem is actually. If you already started a Webserver, why do you want to create domain ?

You told earlier that the problem was on the domain creation, now on boot using psadmin.exe ?
I goofed up..I was making a mistake to start the PIA webserver through startPIA.cmd as well as with psadmin.exe (Boot Domain) command inspite the server being up. My bad.
Anyways I checked, the domain is up with url:http://localhost:8000/psp/ps/?cmd=login&languageCd=ENG& but getting the below error:
CHECK APPSERVER LOGS. THE SITE BOOTED WITH INTERNAL DEFAULT SETTINGS, BECAUSE OF: bea.jolt.ServiceException: Invalid Session.
I cleaned the app server cache, IPC resources, modified the PTWEBSERVER password same as that with DB, encrypted it,checked the config.properties file its pointing to servername:jolt port, rebooted the app server as well as domain but no luck. I am able to login to app server through App Designer. App server logs generated without any error. Help appreciated.
Changed the password for PTWEBSERVER as PTWEBSERVER in both DB & Webserver, encrypted both using encrypt_password PTWEBSERVER & PScipher PTWEBSERVER.
Changed Configuration.Properties & mapped psserver=127.0.0.1:9000 instead of PSHRDEMO1:9000. Error gone.
But after login to PIA using PS I get: Could not open registry. Registry name: EMPLOYEE.
returns PSFT_HR, Y,1,EMPLOYEE.
SELECT PORTAL_NAME, VERSION, STATUS FROM PSPRDMDEFN;
returns 0 rows.
App server logs:
PTWEBSERVER@win2k8ps GetWebProfile](1) Error: WebProfile has set incorrectly, PT_LPROPVALUE, null
PS@Win2K8PS PortalRegistry](2) PrdmGet failed with error code 3, portal name EMPLOYEE
PS@Win2K8PS PortalRegistry](2) CPrdm::LoadDefn failed with error code 3
And this seems to be somewhat connected with PSPRDMDEFN table
Done!!!!!..Its working.. this is what I did:
There is a .dat file psprdmdefn.dat @c:\PT8.53\data I opened it in DM which has insert script for PSPRDMDEFN table for many Portal registry objects. I modified only the statement for EMPLOYEE:

'PT_PORTAL_DEFAULT_CHART_NAV',' ',to_date('01-01-1900', 'dd-mm-yyyy'),to_date('01-01-2030', 'dd-mm-yyyy'),
'A',' ','0',' ',' ',' ',' ',SYSDATE,'Employee-facing registry content',
Cleared the App server cache,IPC resources, Web Server cache,shut down both the servers ran the above script restarted both servers, login to PIA through PS &..............Done..Sweet Success at last. Able to navigate any link on the page.
Will try later for other Portal registry Objects in PSPRDMDEFN.dat.
Note: This is to be done only if PSPRDMDEFN table is blank.
