Trying to get my Oracle Forms application running on my Xperia tablet, but I don't have much luck using the built-in Android Web Browser? I have no issues using Safari on the iPad, but Android seems to be playing up.
First I thought it has to do with my Forms server installation, but then I have also tried the ThinForms demo page at thinforms.com/startdemo but get the same results.
I know that google chrome should be working, but I want to avoid using non-out of the box products, especially if I want to give my clients access to the application as well
Any help getting this to work under the native Android browser would be greatly appreciated
Thin Forms is a claim to run Oracle Forms without a Java plugin. In reality, as far as I know, all third party claims are nothing more than a remote access system like Remote Desktop. So the form really isn't running on the client. It is running on a remote client machine that you (as a client) access from your device. You can do this with Oracle Secure Global Desktop v5+ although it has not been officially Oracle certified at this time for use with Oracle Forms.
Hi, as far I understand it is not using an applet but html canvas which is supported by safari. I have to run the thinforms proxy on my forms application server in order to use forms on the iPad.
A few links:

There is a so an online demo: ThinForms Demo Application

Just to clarify, Oracle Forms is nothing like Citrix. Citrix, is a screen scrapper technology similar to Windows Desktop Sharing or VNC or Oracle SGD. In Forms, the client GUI is actually running on the client machine and not the remote middle tier. "ThinForms" is a type of Citrix, Windows Terminal Server, Oracle SGD, just on a smaller scale. See my post from Sept 20 above.
