Are you looking to do LDAP authentication for your applications? If so, you can create LDAP authentication schemes in 4.1.x. See documentation for details how to do this:
Also, "not supported" != "will not work".
Thanks for the update !!!
I follwed your link, but what i observed in the note is:
At the Setting Up LDAP Directory Verification step:
To set up LDAP Directory:
- On the Workspace home page, click the Application Builder icon. --------> But this icon is not availble in our APEX Web site. i think this icon would be availble starting from 4.2.x versions.
Select an application.
On the Application home page, click Shared Components.
The Shared Components page appears.
Under Security, select Authentication Schemes.
On the Authentication Schemes page, click Create.
Select Based on a pre-configured scheme from the gallery and click Next.
Could you just address my doubt plz, So to achiev this we need to upgrade Apex to 4.2.x versions?
Where i can see Application Builder icon in apex 4.1.1.x versionWeb sites(Please note that our Apex installation was done by the Oracle Container for J2EE(OC4J) version))
Hmm... do you have administrative or developer rights to your workspace?
Yes, I have Admin Account login credentials of APEX Web site... but on thing i am not able to understand i connected to APEX Web site by AdMIN Account i could see only 4 ICONS whe i launch the web site.
1) Manage Requests
2) Manage Instance
3) Manage Workspaces
4) Monitor Activity.
Where is Application Builder in 4.1.1.x version ???
Ah... so you logged in as the instance administrator. The application builder is only available in an APEX workspace. So are you trying to integrate LDAP with applications or with the APEX Development environment? If it's the latter, then that's not available out-of-the-box even in version 4.2. I believe that feature is planned for the 5.0 release. You might also want to have a look at Enkitec's eFramework.
I will explain more clearly.
Generally I Will login to the APEX Web site by : http://<hostname>:<port>/apex/apex_admin by ADMIN Account credentials.
I will connect to the web site by above way for Creating workspaces based on client requirement.
My Present Requirement is:
We would like to gain knowledge on using LDAP-Active Directory setup for Oracle APEX user authentication. Can your team do a search on LDAP setup on Oracle APEX?
Based on your last update : The application builder is only available in an APEX workspace ---> Does it mean that for achieving this we need to login to the web site by
By Workspace, Username and password ???
As per your latest update, I understand LDAP Authentication is possible by Developer side not by Administartor Side ??? Is it correct????
Please provide me updates based on the above update ...
