A customer of ours recently upgraded to 7u40 which caused our product to no longer start. When I dug in, the Java startup process was failing on the -XX:-LoopLimitCheck parameter on the command line. Anyone know what's happening here? Nothing in the release notes that mentions this being removed. Can't find any docs that this is deprecated. Looks like a regression.
OS: Windows 2008 R2
Improperly specified VM option 'LoopLimitCheck'
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.
I figured it out. Oracle has decided to move this option to the hidden diagnostic options. Just add the following to your java options (before LoopLimitCheck)
