Version: 22.214.171.124 on Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.6
We have a 2 node RAC.
We have installed Grid and RDMS software . No DB is created yet using dbca.
To enable partitioning, I have run the following in Node1.
$ chopt enable partitioning
Writing to /app/rdbms/product/126.96.36.199/dbhome_1/install/enable_partitioning.log...
/usr/bin/make -f /app/rdbms/product/188.8.131.52/dbhome_1/rdbms/lib/ins_rdbms.mk part_on ORACLE_HOME=/app/rdbms/product/184.108.40.206/dbhome_1
/usr/bin/make -f /app/rdbms/product/220.127.116.11/dbhome_1/rdbms/lib/ins_rdbms.mk ioracle ORACLE_HOME=/app/rdbms/product/18.104.22.168/dbhome_1
Should I run the above chopt command in Node2's RDBMS Home as well ?
Yes....you will have to do it on both nodes as running the chopt command relinks the libraries.
You need to shutdown your database first and then run the chopt command on both nodes.
To see if it's enabled on Linux.
ar -tv libknlopt.a | grep -c kkpoban.o
1 means enabled and 0 means disabled.
