I've been searching for the past day with no luck, so here I am.
I have an Interactive Report that has a field using the Rich Text Format widget. When I download the report to Excel the RTF tags are displayed in the cell. So, of course, I'm hoping someone will direct me to correct this so the data displays formatted in the cell.
The company does not have BI Publisher.
Can someone help me with this?
What additional information can I provide?
Well, that is the expected result.. remember you are doing a CSV download (Comma Delimited style file....) The RTF formatting is coming across as text.. You need to look at some of the available plugins that produce TRUE Excel style files, or look at existing Oracle packages that produce Excel style files..
Thank you for replying. I've looked at plug-ins, that was the first place I went to, but I didn't find one.
I went to:
If there are any others, please let me know.
So you didn't find ANY plugins that deal with Downloads to Excel from APEX reports??
Did you try ANY of these??
Thanks for the suggestions. Yes I did try the Reports 2 Excel XML and the (IR) Report to Excel (xlsx) plug-ins. I didn't try the Region2XSLTReport because it's fee based and the company will not do that.
The two I did try have an issue with connecting with the server in IE, probably some security setting in IE that I didn't look for.
In Firefox the file was opened in Excel, however, the RTF fields were still displayed with the tags, same as using CSV and I didn't see a setting regarding RTF fields.
Thanks again for the suggestions.
I can not vouch for this part of the library, but have used other pieces of the library and found them useful...
