SGD 5.00.907 (the latest version at the time of writing) does not support Ubuntu 13.04. See the release notes for specific client requirements. Regardless, I have just tested on my Ubuntu 13.04 x64 client and everything works fine. I suggest you:
- Verify what version of Java is reported when you go to www.java.com/testjava and ensure it reports the latest Java 7 and the correct architecture
- Ensure ia32-libs package is installed (the documentation states this is a requirement for x64 Ubuntu 12.04 clients)
Thank you for your support!
Interesting enough, we have one Ubuntu 13.04 client that can access SGD, and a second Ubuntu 13.04 with the same setup/java that can not access SGD. The primary difference is the hardware, one is a laptop and one is a workstation.
O support, was a big help :-)
I have seen something like this before.
In the home directory of the user on the working client you should find a .tarantella directory and underneath somewhere you'll find a "tcc" application.
Please transfer that whole .tarantella directory over onto your not working client (first check if the not working client has a tcc application, if so skip this step) and try and run ./tcc and see if it gives an error.
Often we see a missing library or such which makes tcc not function fully.
Hopefully in your case you'll see the tcc does not work and it should say which dependency it is missing and allow you to install this with apt.
