Ok now, I just retype it as is and it was successfull. I wonder why char is corrupted?

Why are you specifying "from scn "?  It is not needed.  If you are taking a proper incremental backup, oracle already knows what to back up "from".

              Hi Ed,

I am doing this to rebuild DR which has GAPs error, hence I need the scn where the primary is not sync with DR.

              Thanks

If you even retype it as is, it will fail again. The reason is "database" keyword is missing.

I used the same scn that you used to simulate the error again (for demo case) but changed the format directory alone according to my environment.

Also, you have marked the post "Answered" which is useful for nothing.

Could you please simulate the successful RMAN backup with the same command you just retyped? (Just in case if it's working for you)

                Thank you!!

Dear, we have different error. and you can not use my SCN because we have different time based setup. So expect that error. You can try lowering the SCN to match your setup and you will succeed

It is totally useless and waste of time to make you learn something.

Did you ever find what is wrong with your statement till now that it throws out error? I surely say it's a big NO.

                    I'll quit from now on.

                    Thank you!!

I afraid our PROD will get error? Is it ok to run it over and over again?

Yeah your are right dear I missed the key word "database"

Thanks for your concern....You can sleep now.

You don't have to care if I sleep or not. Mark the correct answer as "Correct answer" and try to learn at least from now on.

Don't use "dear". It sounds irritating when working on a public forum.
