Hope you've restart content server after configuration changes are done. Type in g or a (that will bring guest or authenticated in dropdown).
Refer these links below to create type-ahead option list for displaying list of existing roles
Hope this helps
I dont see any values, not even guest or authenticated. The list is completely empty. Is there any setting other than UseEntitySecurity=true and enabling RoleEntityACL?
I created a new OVM box to test just this functionality.Yes, I restarted the UCM after configuration manager setting are changed
I may be repeating the steps which you have already checked , but the values in Role Entity ACL (initial ones) have to be entered manually in the following View : ExternalRoleView .
Once that is done , publish the schema and schema base from Configuration Manager applet , logout / login from WCC and then from checkin page type the first letters of guest / authenticated , it will list the values .
Update the post with details of the results .

I need to see the guest and authenticated values by default after enabling the "RoleEntityACL". Am i missing something here. I have Roles text box enabled, but it is not giving any values even if type **, g or a.
If i get those values, i can go to configuration manager applet and then add more values.
However, I did all those u mentioned. Added a new role in ExternalRoleView, Published Schema and Schema Base. Restarted UCM server. But i see null results.
In General Configuration:
In Advanced Component Manager:
I am able to add users and groups(aliases) in the access control list at the folder level. but not any roles. Am i missing something here?
I did a DB query on externalusers table.
It shows below output as well.
TestRole TestRole External authenticated apReAuthenticatedDesc guest apReGuestDesc
Hi Sandeep ,
Add the following variable to config.cfg and restart server :
After this test to confirm if issue is resolved .
Its confusing !! Values showed up after I did some changes, which i dint track. Now am not sure, what exactly brought up the values. I did not add this in config "AllowQuerySafeUserColumns=true" too. I will do some research and find out what caused the problem.
I have more questions .As they are something not related to title, i posted them in a different thread.
