Pl see if MOS Doc 1134779.1 is applicable.

If SELinux is set to Enforcing, change it to Permissive and retry.

                @ Srini_Chavali

i am installing oracle s/w on 32 bit

I have seen ' same information'  on ORACLE-BASE - Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2) Installation On Oracle Linux 5

I wonder  why we need to set  SELinux is set to  Permissive  ?

However i do NOT have access MOS  ..  If you  provide little information  .. it will help me to understand.

This is incorrect - remove "oel5.linuxserver oel5" from the 127.0.0.1 line

Add a separate line for "oel5.linuxserver oel5" with a static IP address.

                              Hi,

Please confirm you are installing the correct DB bit platform with the OS platform.

                              That is:

DB 32 bit and OS 32 bit or vice versa.

You may check the OS bit  as follows

                              arch

and check whether you have download the correct 32 or 64 bit Oracle software. If there is a mismatch, please download and try installing the correct one

                              Please refer:
