Can you check the ODBC connection?

Our application server's on a different server(also on unix) than the gateway name server, and I have checked the ODBC connection from the application server through 'odbcsql' with the same credentials I have provided in tools.cfg. Is that your question?
No, it's about the connection from Tools to the DB server.
Just tried odbcsql from Tools and it's giving me following error:
ODBC error 00000 in SQLConnect:
Unknown ODBC error!
(native error 0).
Also tried it from Siebel Application server, and getting the same error, even though the application's working fine and I can connect through sqlplus to the database.
Ok, I have tried from the Windows machine with Siebel Tools. Here's what I did:
From the page forwarded, I first checked whether tnsping was working. It wasn't. And upon some investigation, I figured it wasn't working cz I only had Oracle client installed on my machine. tnsping wasn't recognized by cmd, and the solution was to insert a path in PATH variable that didn't exist on the machine. So, I installed complete Oracle 11g database after removing the client. TNSping worked after that, it was giving me an OK message after listing the tns entry of the database name I was trying to connect to from the tnsnames.ora.
Then, ODBC connectivity check: the above page was pointing me towards some folder 'Network Administration' in the installed oracle in 'Programs'. It doesn't exist. How should I proceed?
Now that TNSping is working, you can try to log on with Siebel Tools.
If it works, it means you are directly connected to the server, which is not the usual way.
It would mean that you have to setup yourself as a remote client and extract a local db.
With a bit of luck, the ODBC connection will work, because the Oracle Client is able to connect to the db.
If not, you can check by going to Windows Start -> Run -> And type odbcad32
Find your ODBC entry in System DSN. Click Configure and click Test Connection.
