We are planning on installing oracle 11gr2 on windows. The storage subsystem is a IBM DS8500.
One question I had was..
Is there any benefit of having oracle (or any other db) files on different drive letters in windows even if all the drives are connected to the same SAN storage system?
I am inclining towards one drive letter.
My reasoning is that if i contain all storage into one I will be able to pool the storage and save money on total storage allocated to the system.
Do you agree or are there aspects I am not aware of..
Sorry, but you must ask this question in a DB forum. They can give recommendations to avoid some performances or incompatibility issues.
