Pl post exact OS details. Can you confirm that those ports on your machine are actually in use ? Oracle has no reason to lie
Its good to know actual port usage on a host. If there is a tomcat or some kind of .jsp setup, or something similar, 8080 is the quite often the one it likes pick. For windoze try this in a cmd box:
netstat -an |findstr LIST
TCP 0.0.0.0:139 ... LISTENING
TCP n.n.n.n:8080 ... LISTENING
If you're fortunate enough to be running a *nix host, just change the `findstr` bit to `grep`. Similar output, columns slightly different. Either one, change up to `|more` instead of |findstr or |grep to see all the output, with the headings.
Have seen a silent installer setup (well, a *try* at a setup, or several differing tries. Never got any of 'em to work ) refuse to recognize alternate ports. Anyways, the netstat can help to confirm (or refute) installer program determinations.
