          Hi again friend,

          Ok. I understood. You have a problem with standby in Tsnames.ora and listener.ora. Check one more time tsnames.oa and listener.ora files in Standby. More important, after correction check their connection to database from Server. Thus we are gon na solve the problem

          Tahnk you

          • 48. Re: DG Primary Not sending arch to Standby

            But I just copied everything from the primary

            I am just confused if my dbname in standby should be ORCL or ORCL_STBY?

            If I change the service name to ORCL_STBY the standby can connect using : sqlplus sys/oracle@orcl_stby as sysdba

            But the primary still can not.

              In you system:

              DB_NAME=ORCL

              SERVICE_NAMES=ORCL_STBY

              If I change the service name to ORCL_STBY the standby can connect using : sqlplus sys/oracle@orcl_stby as sysdba                                                                                                                                      Yes it is will work. if not problem in you tnsnames and listener

              But the primary still can not.

              Note: service1 and service 2 please need to IP....

              Thank you

                Hi,

                Your DB_NAME should be your primary database name on all the  standby configuration. But the db_unique_name has to vary for all the connected standby databases.db_unique_name should not be identical with your primary database.

                check your dispatcher service parameter in your parameter file.

                SQL> show parameter dispatcher

                NAME                                 TYPE        VALUE

                ------------------------------------   -----------       ------------------------------

                dispatchers                          string      (PROTOCOL=TCP) (SERVICE=ORCL_STBYXDB)

                Suppose if your standby database name is (ORCL_STBY) try with the below configuration.

                ORCL_STBY =

                  (DESCRIPTION =

                    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = give your hostname or ip)(PORT = 1521))

                    (CONNECT_DATA =

                      (SERVER = DEDICATED)

                      (SERVICE_NAME = ORCL_STBY)

                    )

                  )

                I hope it i'll help u.

                  Hi,

                  The below configuration clearly shows we have some issue with standby service name,correct your service name as (SERVICE_NAME = ORCL_STBY).

                  LISTENER_ORCL =

                    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = server2)(PORT = 1521))

                     ORCL =

                    (DESCRIPTION =

                      (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = server1)(PORT = 1521))

                      (CONNECT_DATA =

                        (SERVER = DEDICATED)

                        (SERVICE_NAME = orcl)

                      )

                    )

                  ORCL_STBY =

                    (DESCRIPTION =

                      (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = server2)(PORT = 1521))

                      (CONNECT_DATA =

                        (SERVER = DEDICATED)

                       (SERVICE_NAME = orcl)

                      )

                    )

                  • 52. Re: DG Primary Not sending arch to Standby

                    Thanks Anar, Dbsync,

                    Actually I have done that already like this:

                    ORCL_STBY =

                      (DESCRIPTION =

                        (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = server2)(PORT = 1521))

                        (CONNECT_DATA =

                          (SERVER = DEDICATED)

                         (SERVICE_NAME = orcl_stby)

                        )

                      )

                    And from server2(local) > I was able to  sqlplus sys/oracle@oracle_stby as sysdba

                    I copied it also at sever1 (remote) > but when I run   sqlplus sys/oracle@oracle_stby as sysdba, the same issue occurs ,and has not been solved by it.

                      Hi,

                      Can you reconfigure your TNS once again by using netca or netmgr.After configuring it reload your listener once again.

                      Move your password file once again to the standby.

                      I guess it's all been tried by your end but still let's take a chance.

                      Thank you.

                        Hi,

                        yes can you reconfigure TNS once again netmgr (as said dbsybc). After configure reload you listener again. and move orapw pass again to Standby location:

                        for example:

                        bash-3.2$ scp /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/db_1/dbs/orapwX Standby_ip:/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/db_1/dbs/orapwX

                        Thank you
