    CLIENT_IDENTIFIER  is always empty in sessions

      We are using a  asp.net web application with one common connection string so we want to set clientid property of OracleConnection to distinct connections.

      We use Oracle Database Server and Oracle.DataAccess Client x64 ( for .NET.

      This is the code:

        string oracleConnString = "Data Source=(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=XXX.XXX.XXX.XX)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVER=DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NAME=orcl)));User Id=scott;Password=tiger;";

        OracleConnection oracleConn = new OracleConnection(oracleConnString);

        oracleConn.ClientId = "SpyrusTheDragon";

      --At this point I can see that the connection is open but CLIENT_IDENTIFIER remains null in database:

      SELECT username, client_identifier FROM v$session where username='scott';

      Any help?
