    pfile or spfile

      I have started the instance to nomount stage with a newly created pfile.

      startup nomount pfile='location'

      Then i created a database with "CREATE DATABASE" script at nomount stage.

      Once the database is created i had run, cat*.sql scripts.

      Later i checked whether the instance is started with pfile or spile by issuing the below command. But i am getting the output as spfile.

      SQL> show parameter pfile

      NAME                                 TYPE        VALUE
      ------------------------------------ ----------- ------------------------------
      spfile                               string

      When i tried to create pfile from spfile, im getting the below error:

      SQL> create pfile from spfile

        2  ;

      create pfile from spfile

      ERROR at line 1:

      ORA-01565: error in identifying file '?/dbs/spfile@.ora'

      ORA-27037: unable to obtain file status

      Linux Error: 2: No such file or directory

      Additional information: 3

      also i tried with v$parameter/

      SQL> select name from v$parameter
      where name like lower('%pfile%')  2
        3  /

      SQL> select * from v$version
        2  ;

      Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release - Production
      PL/SQL Release - Production
      CORE      Production
      TNS for Linux: Version - Production

      Kindly help.
