how to find out the primary logs are applied on the standby and both are sync when you don't have access to the standby server?
Is there any db view available to check on primary end? I've understood we can check only to connect the standby db through TNS service.
could you please share your experience on this. Thanks for your help.
I recommend : Due to easily follow transfer of archivelog's daily in Primary and Secondary side, it takes connect to Secondary side easily. Connection of Secondary side from Primary via TNS does not mean archivelog transfer.That is why being of access to Secondary part you can easily checking transfer.
Thanks AnarGodjaev for your reply. I meant i would connect the standby database via TNS from primary and check the applied archive log sequence details in standby db. you are right that we need to get access for an standby. But I want to know whether any other method we have for knowing the standby status in primary for standby.
Thanks again for your help.
Thank you very much mseberg. I will check it now.
You can run these on the Primary too, change the DEST_ID = as needed for your setup.
set linesize 100
column STANDBY format a20
column applied format a10
NAME AS STANDBY,
DEST_ID = 2
NEXT_TIME > SYSDATE -1 ORDER BY SEQUENCE#;
And compare to this:
NEXT_TIME > SYSDATE -1;
