I want to have clarity on Super Cluster : In Super Cluster I have 2 domains - App Domain and DB Domain , under DB Domain I have 2 zones , I wnated to know whether zones under DB Domain will able to access Exadata Storage cell of Super cluster. As it can only be accessed by DB Domain , so how my zones under DB domain will access Storage in this case ?
This post has now been moved from the Solaris Zones forum space to the Exadata forum space.
People familiar with and who work with Exadata will likely have familiarity with zones.
People who work with zones may not necessarily have a clue how to give advice when Exadata is involved.
Super Cluster having zones in DB can access to Exadata Storage Server cell without having any issues as per my knowledge. Only thing is we have to specify IP address and other configurations DB zones (cellinit.ora & cellip.ora) in each db zones
Between Oracle Exadata and Super Cluster two differences:
1. Exadata - No zones Concept + No Virtualization ( In Future we don't know)
2. Super Cluster will have only Solaris OS. In Exadata Linux OR Solaris we can install in DB layer
Hope it helps....
