Database not able to connect from sqldeveloper

    Sam100485

I am having Windows 7 -64bit. I have installed first Oracle 10g Express edition everything works fine. After that i installed Oracle 11g Standard Edition but after this when i restart both 10g and 11g not able to connect from sqldeveloper. I am getting error Ora 12519 No appropriate service handler found for 10g and Ora-12518 lister couldn't hand off client connection for 11g. After this i restart lsntctl from cmd by lsnrctl stop and start  now 11g works but 10g still have issue. One more point i noticed i checked lsntctl status just after reboot its like this

          Hi,

Stop 11g listener from windows services mmc (run>serices)

          Start  10g listener

You can access the listener for relevant installation going to its bin directory, ex : C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\bin\lsnrctl.exe

If you are connecting with TNS method

copy the tnsnames from <xe_home>/network/admin to <11g_client_home>/network/admin

Now try to connect with sqldeveloper

Note: replace xe_home/11g_client_home with your actual installation locations

          Regards

          Yoonas
