I have a BSO TO ASO transparent partitioning where in ASO cube is empty & is only being used to aggregate the data. I am having a huge performance issue on trying to retrieve the aggregate data from the ASO cube or trying to do zoom in/out of the cube. Looks like part of the problem is that I am not able to create any aggregation views in ASO cube as it is empty, can someone suggest a possible way of creating these views in ASO cube or any other way that I can optimize it, below is what I have already tried & did not work:
1) Using Calc Parallel & aggregate storage memory cache
2) Played around with the settings of MAX_RESPONSE_GRID_SIZE, have following settings in my configuration file:
MAX_RESPONSE_GRID_SIZE PSG_BD 20000000
MAX_REQUEST_GRID_SIZE PSG_BD 4294967295
ENABLE_DIAG_TRANSPARENT_PARTITION PSG_BD TRUE
3) Tweaked the Data/File cache for BSO cube
I am on version 22.214.171.124
Thanks for your help.
You have answered your own question. ASO cannot aggregate data it does not have. It gets it on the fly from BSO when queried.
There are two solutions:
1 export your data from bso and import into aso
2 Design your aso cube so that it is fast enough in the first place to not require aggregation.
