I would like your valuables views/answers on the following issue.
O.S : OEL 5.5
Imagine i lost all my controlfiles. i have a controlfile backup taken yesterday. the physical structure of the database has changed since yesterday( assume a tablespace has been added). now when i am performing recovery using the command SQL>recover database using backup controlfile; it would fail with the following error. ORA-01244: unnamed datafile(s) added to control file by media recovery. so in this case which method should i follow. should i rename the unnamed file or use "alter database create datafile " cmd. the following links give different approaches to the problem 1)http://web.njit.edu/info/oracle/DOC/backup.102/b14191/recoscen002.htm (or) 2)http://hemantoracledba.blogspot.com/2009/05/database-recovery-with-new-datafile-not.html.
Thanks in Advance
