Pearson Vue , Oracle profile confusion

    f2ab76a2-4aaa-412a-9b0b-fb78a2079f85

i had created 1 pearson vue profile , also got an Oracle profile ..both are using the same email address..

so when i logged into Certview, i could already see the Testing ID from pearson..

      My doubts are here..

OPN Competency center had requested for my company ID,  so now my company gets reflected under  "My Specialist Card" ,

1> if i happen to change my company .. how will i make the same change here ? i dont see some option here

2> my understanding is.. Pearson vue will only display exam history.. the certificate will only be present in Cert View..

Now.. due to my earlier company issue.. (if i change it)

i create a new oracle profile for Cert View.. and try to Sync with Pearson vue... will the old certificates be available ? .. in other words.. Will the certificates be linked(to download/ print e certificate) to the oracle profile.. or they will Come to any oracle profile i sync with Pearson vue..

Or i can just change the company..

      Please advice..

If you change companies, you will 'badge' your account to the new company.

Certifications are associated with the Oracle Testing ID which is for you -- not your company.  If you change companies, you need to change your email address (if your current one is you@company.com) and rebadge the account as noted above.  I recommend that you use a personal email address for your account rather than a company one so that the first step never becomes an issue if you change companies.

If you do change companies, you will need to update the information in your Pearson VUE profile as well as in your Oracle.com account. You can get detailed information on our website - http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=291

              Hello Matthew,

I have few queries and seeking your advise to clear them as you stated that ' I recommend that you use a personal email address for your account rather than a company one so that the first step never becomes an issue if you change companies’ to the below query

//2> my understanding is.. Pearson vue will only display exam history.. the certificate will only be present in Cert View..
Now.. due to my earlier company issue.. (if i change it)

              1) I am creating new PearsonVUE account where we have one question 'Is your employer is member of OPN network?' and having option Yes/ No. Is it mandatory that we should select yes and provide my company's OPN id or not required.

              2) If i select Yes/No for ‘Is your employer is member of OPN network?’ then what would be the outcome. Will it give any difference for our certification?

              3) Also can we create PearsonVUE account as well as Oracle.com Single Sign-On by using our personal email address for our account rather than a company one? If so, Let’s say person 'X' changing his company in future then every time can he enter his current company OPN id to register his Oracle.com Single Sign-On. I guess registering his Oracle.com Single Sign-On will go to his current company review/approval.

              4) Please advise me how we can have same mail id for PearsonVUE account as well as Oracle.com Single Sign life long

Certifications and your Certview account are linked with your Oracle testing ID.  Your Certview account is in turn linked with your OTN account -- which is the bases for SSO.  This is how Single Sign-On gets you to your Certview account and thereby your certifications.  The OU FAQ has this to say about changing your Certview login:

                • Your CertView login information is your Oracle Web Account login information. If your email address (which is typically your username for your Oracle Web Account) changes, you can update your username in your Oracle profile.
                • After updating your email address, you will then need to submit an SR to Oracle Certification Support requesting to have your CertView account updated with your new username.
                • The first time you login to CertView after making this update and having the support team update your CertView account, you will need to authenticate your account again with your new details. You will be prompted to do so.

You will also need to change the email address of your Pearson Vue account. You will *not* create new accounts at either location.

                Answering your numbered questions:

                1.  No, it is not required.  My OPN company information was blank until recently.

                2.  I don't know all of the ramifications.  The reason I recently added my company ID was because I had been given a free beta voucher for an OPN exam and I was not able to use it *until* my Pearson profile had the company ID set.

                3. Your OTN and Pearson accounts are yours, not your company's.  You can badge an OTN account to a company and set the company ID in the Pearson profile to a company, but that does not change the fact that the account is yours.  If you move companies, you can change which company those accounts point to.  The only thing that makes the accounts difficult to change is when they reference a company email address... which was the point of my suggestion.

                4.  I already referenced changing your OTN email above. You can update the information in your Pearson VUE profile at pearsonvue.com/oracle.

Just a note on OPN Company ID - If you are a member of an Oracle Partner Organization, you should include your OPN Company ID because your company receives credit for cerrtifications earned by their employees. The number of employees they have who are certified in a certain area will determine the level off Partner certification your company can obtain.

If you are not a member of an Oracle Partner Organization, you can leave that field blank.
