The MOS doc which covers the steps of changing hostname/domainname is not available yet for public access. However, you can use Rapid Clone to achieve the same.

I guess it doesn't matter if it's 11i or 12.2, the only procedure that works for this, is to act as if you are cloning eBS to another machine. This would include running preclone of course ...
You will find that this procedure is doing more than you actually need to, but it's a guaranteed way of working.
Only running AutoConfig is not enough to perform this task, not only because you'll need to modify FND_NODES.
If you know the cloning procedure very well, you'll figure out what parts may be skipped, resulting in a slimmed down procedure based on the cloning procedure.
