Nothing seems to be wrong.
I noticed one thing different from the Tutorial.
The DATE_UPDATED you configured as DATE different from DATE_HIRED.
Can you transform your it to STRING, execute and let us know the results?
The simple solution that I have done so far is as follows, if you do follow these steps it will work and please mark as correct answer.
1- After configuring the Physical and logical topology correclty, creating the model with FILE TECHNOLGY, then you should be able to right click in the datastore and see the data, ok? (Don't proceed until you suceed on this step)
2- After succesfully completing the steps above, do the following, create a table with the same structure as your file datastore, you can duplicate it and drag and drop to the target datamodel and then generate a ddl to create the table on your target DB, ok?
3-Create an interface(File to table) to extract the data from file to you target table, on the source use the KM(LKM File To SQL) on the target use KM(IKM SQL Control Append) with the truncate option as TRUE, make sure it works before proceeding.
4- In this Step Just make you sure you have another datastore for your target file, create a text file in the dir and map it in the datastore, again I would just duplicate the first file datastore to make sure you have the same structure and rename it and make the same test, right click and visualize the data you can paste some data there just to be sure, only proceed if this step works.
5-Final Step, create another interface(table to File), first complete the mapping (Source to target), then go back to the overview tab in your interface, there is a tick box saying Staging Area Different From target, click there, this will allow you to select the correct KM in the flow tab, after that click in the flow tab, go to the target datastore and click on it, then go and select the IKM SQL to File Append, truncate :yes, choose generate header false or whatever you like, and then run the interface, this is the correct procedure to acomplish this requirement, bear in mind that there is no KM (File to File) only =>
- LKM File to SQL
- IKM SQL to File Append ,
Please let me know when you complete this or what problem you facing.
Just a little update for you.
With just exploring the code, I found that
Goto Topology -> File
The data server FILE_GENERIC has:
JDBC Driver: oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver
JDBC URL: jdbc:oracle:thin:@synapps.syntel.in:1530:SYNVIS
But if i change it to
JDBC Driver: com.sunopsis.jdbc.driver.file.FileDriver
JDBC URL: jdbc:snps:dbfile
The interface is executed with no error but now I am not able to view data.
You can check this may be it is of some help to you.
