This will configure the on-boot properties of the Oracle ASM library

driver.  The following questions will determine whether the driver is

loaded on boot and what permissions it will have.  The current values

will be shown in brackets ('[]').  Hitting <ENTER> without typing an

answer will keep that current value.  Ctrl-C will abort.

              Hello Ashish,

Could you set the ownership and permissions on the /dev/dm* devices is set to grid:oinstall and 775? Also check that devices erroring out are presented to the server.

Once please let us know if the same resolves your issue or not.

              Regards,

              Vandana - Oracle

post result of following command :

                which oracleasm

                try using this oracleasm :

                /usr/sbin/oracleasm

u might have to run "oracleasm configure -i " to configure

"oracleasm configure" will only show the current configuration

                Cheers

                    Hey Vandana,

Permission was correct, there was some problem with the packages I downloaded earlier. Which I again downloaded and this how it resolved. See below.

The only difference is for size of rpm. First I downloaded below:

Name        : oracleasmlib Relocations: (not relocatable)

Version     : 2.0.4 Vendor: Oracle Corporation

                    Release     : 1.el5 Build Date: Wed 18 Mar 2009 03:27:43 PM EDT

Install Date: Thu 13 Feb 2014 06:52:06 AM EST      Build Host: ca-build23.us.oracle.com

                    Group       : System Environment/Kernel     Source RPM: oracleasmlib-2.0.4-1.el5.src.rpm

Size : 21792 License: Oracle Corporation

                    Signature   : DSA/SHA1, Thu 03 Dec 2009 03:07:19 PM EST, Key ID 66ced3de1e5e0159

                    Packager    : Joel Becker <joel.becker@oracle.com>

                    URL         : http://oss.oracle.com/

Summary     : The Oracle Automatic Storage Management library userspace code.

                    Description :

The Oracle userspace library for Oracle Automatic Storage Management

Now I installed this and issue got resolved.

Looks like there was some problem with downloading the packages since the size varies. Anyways thank you so much.
