Hi,

Recently applied a patch(74 to 115) oracle UCM 10gR3. After upgrade due some issues the server was downgraded to 74, but now facing a problem with the indexer. The no of documents got indexed previsouly in an hour got reduced grdually. Please provide inputs on how to make sure the downgrade is successful and fixing the issues related to indexing.

Thanks

If you are having issues with either an opatch rollback or with the content server post-rollback, I'd suggest you open an SR with Support. They would be the best (and quickest) ones to support a proper product issue.

    Hi Manoj ,

What issues were encountered post-115 patching that you have to roll-back to version 74 ?

Unlike 11g , with ucm 10g roll back meant to restore the updated folders with older ones . So , most likely maybe the search folder would have got some incorrect entries which is causing the issue. Can you list the steps done as part of roll-back ?

    Thanks,

    Srinath

    Hi Srinath,

We have downgraded from 115 to 74 because the system performance got impacted and the indexing was really slow(Before patch we the indexing rate was 7k per hour and after patching it got reduced to 2k per hour).

    Rollback steps:

    1. Disabled both core update bundle and patch(build 115)

    2. Iinstalled a core update and bundle and patch(build 74)

After downgrade the indexer performance improved upto 5k per hour but it is not yet up to the previous index rate(7k per hour).

Please advise how to check and clear the search folder incorrect entries.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Manoj

I am not too sure that patch could have created the issue with indexer . I would suggest to install the 115 patch , run tracing on indexer processes to see where does the bottleneck come up .

Now , you should set indexer*,requestaudit, systemdatabase, taskmonitor tracing + Full verbose on server and run indexer , capture the server output and see where is the actual bottleneck .

    Thanks,

    Srinath
