Solaris Cluster 3.2 is using the zpool name for SUNW.HAStoragePlus. As long as the zpool is online SC3.2 does not perform any action. So, in the view of SC you can adding your LUN to the existing zpool without additional actions. Certainly, the new LUN must be visible to all nodes in the cluster that the zpool can be moved to other nodes.
Thanks Juergen for the information . I read in some posts to refresh DID list
IS there no need to run cldevice polpulate then
Also Once I add the new LUN to the existing pool with "zpool add pool name lun-name " ,will the increased space be available for all the filesystems in that pool for use automatically
yes, you need to run "cldev populate" to update the DID devices after you made the LUN visible to the nodes. You can check with "cldev list -v" if the new LUN is in the list on all nodes. I thought you was talking from application perspective.
However, the procedure for fibre channel is described in
The step1 in this procedure can be different - depending on your used shared storage array.
Yes, after the command "zpool add pool-name lun-name" the increased space is available for filesystems in that zpool.
