rman and export are two different and unrelated utilities.  You say you got an rman error, but the above message you actually report comes from exp, not rman.

I don't even recognize the format of this message.  Where did it come from?

You need to start at the beginning.  Give us the full 4-digit version number of your database.  Give us the edition (Standard, Enterprise, etc.).  Give us your OS.

Then give us the full command line you executed that resulted in the error messages.  Tell us what OS user you were logged on as at the time.

            Hello

This is from HP Data Protector 8.10.

The Database runs on Linux x64 and the Database is an 11.2.0.4 Enterprise edition.

              Hi PuschL

              I hope this help you:

              • Can you run the expdp outside of HP Data Protector ?.
              • Expdp its a logical backup and Rman its a physical backup totally different from Expdp.
              • Normally if you are implementing a Storage Library like HP Data protector you configure RMAN to save the backup on Tapes or HP Storage library.
              • If you want to backup an Expdp File, probably its better to execute the EXPDP outside of HP Data Protector and then Backup This File or Directory with HP Data Protector.
              • I recommend you to backup your DB with RMAN and maybe complement with another backup with Expdp.
              • Backup your DB locally in your DB server and also copy this backups to tape or Storage library

              Regards

It does look like the configured backup is an export backup, not an RMAN backup.

Do you have documentation on how the backup is configured ?  Maybe it will help identify what command is being issued and what the error message means.
