So how you have configured the IPMP, is it active/active or active/standby ?
You mentioned that on one of the node the logical ip is configured on 2nd interface but you can get access via 1st interface.
Please provide more details about the issue.
I found the following which might be useful :
IPMP improves overall network performance by automatically spreading out outbound network traffic across the set of interfaces in the IPMP group. This process is called outbound load spreading. The system also indirectly controls inbound load spreading by performing source address selection for packets whose IP source address was not specified by the application. However, if an application has explicitly chosen an IP source address, then the system does not vary that source address.
Thanks for your reply. I am really sorry to inform U that I have a typo on my last update. My correct situation is when a "logica" IP is being on the 2nd Network I/F, it is noticed that we CANNOT get access to this IP via the 1st Network I/F. Well, we are configured as Link Based Active-Active IPMP. In effect, it is noticed that there is no network traffic between the two cross cable connected physical network interface. Is that okay for the Link Based IPMP setup?
Thanks & Regards
Fine. then it will not be a good idea to use IPMP.
By the way why do you want ipmp only ? You may try Aggregation as it makes sense.
Why don't you use back to back link aggregation, i feel that will be a good choice.
