Can anyone let me know what is the recommended procedure to do remote debugging of an application in one managed server in a multiple managed servers configuration(One Admin server, multiple managed servers).

I usually go by this procedure but not sure if this is a good one.

      1.Start the Admin server.

2.Start all the managed servers exception the one you want to remote debug eg. WC_Spaces.

3.Now modify the startWeblogic.sh to add the remote debugging entries to JAVA_OPTIONS. (-Xdebug -Xnoagent -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,server=y,suspend=n,address=4000 -Djava.compiler=NONE)

4.Start the WC_Spaces managed server from the weblogic console or terminal.

5.Connect the jdeveloper application to the remote debugger process.

If i'm setting the debug options before starting any of the servers, the admin sever comes takes up the debug port 8543 and the next managed servers fail to start as they try to get hold of this port.
