2) When it hangs it does not affect the host OS
Did you monitor the size of disk using 'watch du -sk ' Command ?
collect and display last 50 lines of the installation logs files here.
let see watch the OUI is doing.
Basically it will hangs when Linking binaries approx at 63%. Currently i am monitoring the disk size.
Ok currently i am monitoring the same it didn't hang till 65%.. I am also monitoring the space as well.
But want to confirm during installation of database, shall i need to install first only the Oracle db software and after everything is successful i continue with creating db.So that installation will not hang.
This time gettinge error as
Command return code of 255 (65280) from command: /u01/app/11.2.0/grid/bin/ocrconfig -upgrade oracle oinstall
Failed to create Oracle Cluster Registry configuration, rc 255
I know that this error is due to the reason of NFS file system /OCR mounted with incorrect options
but i use the blog ORACLE-BASE - Oracle Database 11g Release 2 RAC On Linux Using NFS
Where the stpes which are mentioned to mount the nfs i follow the same. Please let me know if the nfs are properly mounted then Step 8 of Uninstaller shows the storage location or it comes empty in front we need to manually enter the path.
What you guys suggest.
There might me error code before this error. What is that ?
This looks an I/O issue. Please check if you have correct permissions on the partition when it gets hanged.
I have also seen one more issue here were the storage was automatically made read only during installation. (I don't know how it went ready only but this is for sure this has something to do with OS level parameters).
I have seen the posts from Tim Hall on oracle base they are very useful you can also ask him this query. and Yes he do reply.
