You can give the URL name as jdbc:oracle:thin:@host-scan:1521\servicename
You need to seperate the service name from the port using '\' rather than ':'.
If it is an SID then you can use the colon ':' to seperate the port number and sid.
Do let me know if this works for you.
Thanks & Regards,
In his requirement, Oracle RAC has been installed and he has scan-vip hostname and the instance name are also clustered so the below URL specification is the correct way to connect to work repository.
jdbc:oracle:thin:@(DESCRIPTION =(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)
(HOST= host-scan)(PORT = 1521))(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVICE_NAME = MyServiceName)))
Where MyServiceName is clustered service name,
Please get the complete TNS entry details from you DBA and provide the JDBC URL as mentioned above to connect to work repository
