Why use a separate browser window as a popup, and not a Jquery UI widget instead?
Basic approach. Define a custom region as a JQuery popup. Use dynamic actions to popup the window and pass data to the popup (e.g. user selecting a row). Use dynamic actions on the popup window (e.g. buttons in the popup region) to perform actions such as updates, deletes and inserts. And which close the popup when executed.
As always, a demo of the problem on apex.oracle.com would be very helpful. Also, please provide us with developer credentials so that we can take a look at the setup.
