Hi, There are some Functions, oriented with your RDBMS software. You should migrate them first.Check few datatypes of SQL SERVER are not compatible with Oracle Database like datetime(in SQL SERVER)=> date(in Oracle). Hop this would help.
You can use the SQL*Developer migration workbench tool to migrate from SQL*Server to Oracle.
You can find the download, further information and tutorials here -
This has a link to the SQL*Server demonstration which is available here -
If the SQL*Server database is large, for example more than 50mb, then you should use the offline migration method as this gives you more control for larger migrations.
Hi all..thank you for your reply
first I had check the data type and the nice tutorial..Like I said before, I already tried moving mysql to oracle in one machine
but my problem now is how to moving sql server to oracle, using sql developer in 2 machines..
I had give the hostname as my PC 2 IP, but give e error like this
IO Error: The network adapter could not establish the connection
and I had follow this tutorial but no result
Have you setup the Oracle database on PC2 as a 'connection' in SQL*Developer ? Are the property connection details correct -
- IP address or machine name,
- port number for the RDBMS listener
- SID for the Oracle RDBMS SID
Are you able to 'ping' the machine where the database is running from the SQL*Developer machine and are the database and listener up and running ?
Hi guys..good news
now I can test the connection perfectly
so Im doing this :
1. change the localhost in listener.ora as my ip 192.168.2.14
2. turn off the firewall
3. install and setup the telnet
4. now i can try to migrate
but I have new problem now..of Enterprise Manager 'sickness'
all of my listener and host instance was DOWN..only in EM by browser
but I still can connecting via CMD..sql plus good, tnsping good, lsnrctl good
