Does anything appear, any errors or what so ever?

        Hostname should be ok.

You could try http://localhost:8080\pls\apex_admin but i do not expect that change anything.

        Regards,

No errors at all. I have described all steps above.

Is there requirement of starting listener or anything else.

            Hi Arif,

No we are not getting to the listener yet :-(.

First we want to see that everything is working with the EPG.

You could try to granting the connect privileges as described here Downloading from Oracle Technology Network

This should not be necessary as you are on a 10R2 db if i am right?

If you get the xdb logon try login in with username sys and passw

if it accepts try then URL http://macmsvm:8080/pls/apex_admin (or localhost)

            Regards,

            Kees Vlek

Just one more point if I try to open http://macmsvm:8080/ even then I get the same authentication pop up.

I am Using Oracle 10g Release 10.2.0.5.0, even then I tried to execute the procedure for granting connect privileges but many errors.

In the following thread Blank screen when attempting to log in to apex 4.1

I came across the following "check your Webserver installation. Your Browser is not able to locate the APEX css and javascript files which should be stored on the webserver (e.g. directory /images/) and are identified by an alias "/i/" which in turn is defined in your servers dads.conf file."

Any thing I need to update in dads.conf file? But there is no dads.conf file on my machine.

                  Hi Arif,

I am lost too by now... sorry but i do not think i can help you to get things running.

It is weird because usually it isn' t such a problem.

May be somebody else is able to help you or you can add ticket with oracle support.

If i was you i would try to setup the whole thing on a virtual machine. So you can easily restart if things go wrong.

Also it is possible to check the difference in DB and APEX settings if you can get it work in your VM.

                  Regards,

                  Kees Vlek

Thanks a lot Kees Vlek for all your support.

The only good thing is that I am using Virtual Machine and I have saved the copies in between.

So can go back to any stage. 1. Blank without any installation 2. with database installed 3. apex installed and 4 is current state

                    Best Regards

Kees Vlek Surprise surprise localhost:port/apex that is macmsvm:8080/apex asks for authentication but it does work

Now the only solution I need is for authentication then I will go for APEX Listener.

                        Hi Arif,

                        Well that is good news!

This means that in the basic everything works.

Now you can start with the implementation of the apex listener.

This also should not be so complex ;-)

If you ran in any (new) problems just put them here and i will try to help you.

                        Regards,

                          Hi Kees Vlek,

Thanks a lot for all your support throughout my installation process.

But if you noticed my previous post I have mentioned that the authentication popup is still visible and need to sort it out as well,

anyways I will take a backup at this stage and proceed with next steps.

Hope some one helps out to solve the issue of authentication as well.

Also this Authentocation popup keeps on appearing frequently on executing an application and now even the sys user does not work.

                            Please help .....
