Hi Gurus,

Could you please let us know if Oracle application Express 2.0 is still using dbms_sys_sql as decribed in the forum :

Query rewrite not working?

I'm just asking cause i put a trace (alter system set sql_trace=true) , but see NO call to dbms_sys_sql from the trace when running an application that updates DEPT (in my case)..

In all cases , could you please describe a bit more (step by step would be a 'nice to have') how htmldb_public_user via FLOWS_020000 is able to update, insert , delete rows from tables belonging to another schema whitout
having specific privs on that table ...

Thks in advance.

Thierry - Yes, it still uses dbms_sys_sql.

HTMLDB_PUBLIC_USER is the user that creates the database session. FLOWS_020000 owns the packages that call dbms_sys_sql which in turn is used to dynamically parse/execute the application's SQL and PL/SQL as the application's parsing schema and that schema has the required object privileges.
