    Last Activity Date, redux

I had an earlier thread about threads showing a recent 'last activity' date, when the newest posting in the thread was much older.  Starting yesterday I've noticed a new twist on 'last activity date' as shown on a forum's 'Content' page.

Right now, looking at the Content tab for the General Questions forum (General Questions)

The Last Activity dates, from top to bottom are showing as

I get the feeling that some screens display posts in a "date/time of last post" order whilst displaying the last activity date/time in the information, making them seem out of order.

Personally I don't get too hung up about it... It's Jive after all.

Well, I'm certainly not losing any sleep over it.  Just curious if someone might have some insights.

The content view shows a "last activity" column, but it does not necessarily mean the list is sorted by last activity.

From what I understand, the content view and overview list threads in a chronological order sorted by last response, or creation time if there was no response yet. However, last response is not the same as last activity. For instance, editing a post counts as activity (and affects the archiving policy).

So perhaps the confusing is that the views show a last activity column, but the information is sorted by last response or creation if there has been no reply yet.
