That's the instance_name and not the db_name. Instance_name does not have to be the same as database_name although for non-rac databases it usually is.
select instance_name from v$instance; select name from v$database;
So which DB NAME is being referenced to when accessing the database from a client workstation, using the client tnsnames.ora?
I remember we got issues before when we configured "batchprod" in our tnsnames.ora and ressolved when put "batchpro".
It seems you need to check in your DOCUMENTATION, what is configured in tnsnames.ora
