    Replicat process doesn't work

    Cheney Shue

      I installed two GGS in one machine for learning. One is Extract, another is Replicat. Following is the parameter files. All processes were in running status. The Extract process can generate trail files while issue DML. But changes didn't apply to target. I cannot see anything happened from the command-line window of Replicat. It seems trails didn't send to Replicat.

      Extract:

      mgr.prm

      PORT 7809

      DYNAMICPORTLIST 7810-7820, 7830

      extr.prm

      EXTRACT extr

      USERID GG_EXTR, PASSWORD pwd123

      RMTHOST 127.0.0.1, MGRPORT 8809

      RMTTRAIL C:\App\GGS\dirdat\rt

      TABLE GG_SRC.*;

      Replicat:

      mgr.prm

      PORT 8809

      DYNAMICPORTLIST 8810-8820, 8830

      repl.prm

      REPLICAT repl

      USERID GG_REPL, PASSWORD pwd123

      ASSUMETARGETDEFS

      MAP GG_SRC.*, TARGET GG_TGR.*;

          On a single host, you only need 1 manager.  How do you have 2 managers running?  Do you have 2 golden gate homes?

          Is your replicat looking for the  remote trail in the dirdat directory?

          Example:

          add replicat repl, exttrail ./dirdat/rt

          In a simple configuration, I still use a PUMP extract for pass thru purposes. This way I can see where the trail files are coming from and going.  Try making your environment really simple, with 1 manager, 1 extract, 1 pump, and 1 replicat.

          Thanks

            I misunderstand rmttrail and exttrail configuration. It's working now.

            Thanks.
