Table changes not updated through DDL Sync

    2714250

      Hello Siebel Experts,

I am using Siebel 8.1.1.11 on Windows 2008 R2 with Ms sql DB 2008 R2 SP2. As part of development our developers had created few columns in DEV on few tables (They performed apply/activate from Tools).

I had exported the repository from Dev and imported the Siebel Repository into target environment and run the DDL Sync by using Windows Database configuration utility.

Though the DDL sync had completed successfully (With errors as the indexes are already present),To my surprise the table changes were not applied on physical database.

I had checked the create table statement from ddlsync logs shown with new columns but they were not present in DB. We had tried apply/activate from tools in target environment and they got applied in physical database (used SIEBEL user).

Please provide your valuable inputs on this.

      Thanks in advance,

      Rajiv.

          Hi Rajiv,

Thank you for posting your question to communities.

Please make sure that ODBC is correct configured to point to the database.

if Tools Apply option has worked, ddlsync should work too as long as the DB server configuration parameters were correctly set.

Make sure that the process is not customized and you are invoking the utility from DBSrvr configuration wizard.

If you verified these things, please send us the log files.

          Thanks,

          Madhavi.

            Hello Madhavi,

            Thanks for your reply!!!!

            1. ODBC is configured correct as the Sync process completed successfully.

            2. Yes, even i got surprised that why it was not applied by running configuration wizard but applied through Siebel Tools.

            3. I had invoked the utility through DBsrvr configuration wizard only.

I am facing some VPN issues at my work station where i can not able to get you the log file. It is bit huge file. But i will try to send to u if it requires.

I am suspecting there might be issue from DB for Siebel User.

Will you please focus some light on this area to verify?

            Thanks in advance,

            Rajiv.

Ok. I really need to see the log file at this point.

Please also send master_ddlsync.ucf file from SiebSrvr\Bin directory.

              Thanks,

              Madhavi
