I've been trying to work out a way to get high availability from a database adapter without using a RAC database. I'm on OVD 220.127.116.11 and have two databases with the same information. If one database were to be unavailable (or go down unexpectedly), I would like OVD to use the other database. With an LDAP adapter this is easy. It's also easy with a RAC database (though technically that is one database, but it has multiple instances). But what if I don't have RAC? I've been experimenting with load balancer solutions and etc/hosts file configurations. Has anyone else found a way to make this work? I considered trying routing, but I can't see a way to make that work.
