        It might be informative to see what showed up in the session wait p1raw column at the far end of the db link - it normally shows the type of the network transport, e.g:

         

        SQL> select sid, p1, p1raw from v$session_wait where sid in (

          2  select sid from v$session where username = 'TEST_USER'

          3  );

         

              SID        P1 P1RAW

        ---------- ---------- ----------------

                19 1413697536 0000000054435000

                20 1650815232 0000000062657100

              142 1650815232 0000000062657100

         

        3 rows selected.

         

         

        In this example SID 19 shows TCP (upper case) while SIDs 20 and 142 show beq (lower case).
