2. Re: Export Custom Object search results
zhangx Apr 27, 2015 5:57 PM (in response to nacanh)You can sync that custom object to Insight and pull the dataset from your custom object at contact attribute in Insight.

3. Re: Export Custom Object search results
alexanderhuzar Apr 28, 2015 6:38 PM (in response to nacanh)Method 1:
Custom object > Reporting (drop-down from the top-right) > Custom Object Record Field Values (or percentages)
Select your field, click "Select"
Click into any field values that interest you
Observe an exportable list of records
(Limitation = cannot use wildcards)
Method 2:
Insight. This requires the analyzer license. Custom Object Record values are not subject to the normal 24 hour delay that almost all other data is. At most there is a ~30 second delay between CDOs and Insight.
Ensure that the Custom Object Record and the fields from it you want are available in Insight. You want to include your unique field because the values are deduplicated in Insight otherwise. Build a report that includes the unique field and the field your value of interest is in. Filter on the column of interest and run the report. Export as desired.
Method 3:
API. From any open Eloqua window where you've already logged in, go to this URL: https://secure.eloqua.com/api/docs/dynamic/rest/1.0/reference.aspx
(This is not for the tame and feint of heart.)

4. Re: Export Custom Object search results
zhangx Apr 29, 2015 4:29 PM (in response to alexanderhuzar)Thanks Alexander for the methods you suggested to view CDOs! I have a related question relating to Customer Objects; can I create a Customer Objects at campaign level? Thank you in advance!

5. Re: Export Custom Object search results
alexanderhuzar Apr 29, 2015 5:25 PM (in response to zhangx)No, when working with campaigns you can only work with contacts. What you can do is set up a form submit cloud connector where in the processing steps of the form used in there you can set it up to create/update custom object records.
You can still evaluate custom objects using a filter, only requirement here being that the custom object be mapped to the contact and the contact needs to pass through the evaluation step. You cannot evaluate custom object records that are not mapped to the contact you're working with.

nacanh Apr 29, 2015 8:47 PM (in response to zhangx)I wonder if you could give me more details. I'm new to Eloqua and have not used Insight yet.

7. Re: Export Custom Object search results
nacanh Apr 29, 2015 8:48 PM (in response to alexanderhuzar)I neglected to mention that it's not just one data field I need to export. There are several fields within each record that I need to see. For instance, I want to see the premium amount for my insurance customer along with their policy number.

8. Re: Export Custom Object search results
zhangx Apr 29, 2015 8:55 PM (in response to nacanh)Method 1 gives you the dataset with all the fields in your CDO.
Custom object > Reporting (drop-down from the top-right) > Custom Object Records Data

9. Re: Export Custom Object search results
alexanderhuzar Apr 29, 2015 8:56 PM (in response to nacanh)In the Method 1 view you cannot pick and choose contact fields to show alongside the Custom Object Record fields. You can only do this using Method 2.
You should do it like this:
-Make all required fields from your custom object available to Insight reporting - use the "Insight Setup" button when in the Custom Objects area of Eloqua.
Create a blank report (requires analyzer license): Insight > New Report > Blank Report
Go to Attributes > Contact >
Add in the "Email Address" into the first column (double-click if you're not sure)
Add in the other contact fields you want to include (may be "hidden" in the folders "Custom Text" or "Integration Fields" or "Custom Numeric")
Then go into the folder called "Custom Data Objects" and the folder named after the custom object you want to include
Include the fields from there you also want in the report
The result will be that you will have rows for contacts mapped to custom object records where you will see field values from both the contact and custom object record. Try not to include other things in the report such as campaign or email attributes. Keep it simple - just contact fields and custom object fields.

13. Re: Export Custom Object search results
alexanderhuzar Apr 30, 2015 1:36 PM (in response to nacanh)To see who has the license:
Settings > Setup > Users > Users (drop-down menu) > License Usage Overview Report > click into the number in the "User Count" column where it intersects with the "Eloqua Analyzer" row.

14. Re: Export Custom Object search results
nacanh Apr 30, 2015 2:44 PM (in response to alexanderhuzar)There is a “2” . When I click on it I see the User Names are “Analyzer License and my manager’s name. When I go to Edit User, the checkbox is not active for the Eloqua Analyzer. What does that mean?
