# How to impliment this in OBIEE? Financial year for India is April to March

Hi Experts,

We have to implement a solution where we have different countries like India/USA/UK etc.

For India financial year is April to March and for rest other countries it is January to December.

We have prompt   Country   Start Date   End Date  Year.    Start Date /End Date are quarter start date(1-Jan/1-Apr/1-Jul/1-Oct) and quarter end date(31-Mar/30-Jun/30-Sept/31-dec).

When user select Country=India and Quarter =Q4 and Year =2016. Then the data should be filter for Year=2017(because India's Q4 is lies in next year.)

As user can select multiple quarters , so always for India for Q4 the year should be next year.

If you have any suggestion, Please share.

Thanks,

Hi,

You can snowflake the table with countries and start/end of quarters by country with the time dimension (day between start and end). So when you select the country it will automatically join and apply the right filtering on the time dimension based on the country etc.

To add to Gianni's reply: It all is dependent on you actually posessing a well formed data Dimension which comprehends your Interpretation of the "Fiscal Calendar".

You'll find that with almost all time topics the physical time dimension is crucial.

As you never closed a single one and so you are just using the community forum without giving anything back I thought an "how to" was maybe helpful

For Australia the Financial Year is 01 July 2017 - 30 JUN 2018

@OMAR_BI What's your point? Every region has its own definition of "Fiscal Year" and depending on legislations corporations may choose their own fiscal year.

That doesn't add any information to this topic and just reinforces the main point: It all depends on how you model your physical time dimension and how many different calendars you register in it.

user652652 Nice going by the way on again abandoning a thread!
