    Java problems after 9.2.0.1 --> 9.2.0.6 upgrade

    435199
After the upgrade from version 9.2.0.1 to 9.2.0.6, when trying to start dbca, I receive the following error:

libcxa.so.3: cannot open shared object file:
No such file or directory (libOsUtils.so)

java.lang.unsatisfied link error: no OsUtils in library path

      Can anybody help?

I had a similar experience. Linux RHEL AS3, Oracle patch 9.2.0.6.

According to the "find" command, the file libcxa.so.3 does not exist anywhere in the filesystem.

Error text (immediately after invoking dbca script):

libcxa.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory (libOsUtils.so)
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no OsUtils in shared library path

            Hi Luc,

Did you get an answer from Oracle about this problem. I've just searched Metalink and can't find anything worthwhile.

            Cheers

I found an answer from the posts offered during creating a tar. Its a shame that a Metalink search doesn't find this... anyway,
              WORKAROUND:
              Install
              9.2.0.4 base then 9.2.0.6 patchset
9.2.0.1 base then 9.2.0.5 patchset then 9.2.0.6 patchset

              or provide the files -

              $ORACLE_HOME/lib/libcxa.so
              $ORACLE_HOME/lib/libcxa.so.3
              from a Linux -x86 9.2.0.5 installation

              or a valid
              9.2.0.4 to 9.2.0.6 installation

Same error. Same cause. (9.2.0.6 patch). Same fix.
                NICE WORK!

                  Solution Found:
                  1. download a tar file found in this location:
                  http://www.atmos.ucla.edu/~munnich/Grads/EOF/current/binaries/linux/eofudf_linux.tar.gz

                  2. Extract this to a seperate folder called /tmp/eof
                  3. After extrating you can find the libcxa.so.3 file in the extracted say, /tmp/eof folder.
                  4. copy this file to /usr/lib & $ORACLE_HOME/LIB
                  5. Now you run 'dbca', it works fine.
