It's normal behavior. When you connect the power cables, system will perform the P.O.S.T. for ILOM (SP) around 5 - 10 minutes, after that you can boot up your system (OS) by press button or >- start /SYS at ILOM.

BTW I have two of the x4270: one takes 5 minutes whereas the other takes 9 minutes. Any idea why the discrepancy?
This can be due to different system resources (CPU, memory, FAN, disk), environment (config), firmware version etc.
If you want to know what's the system boot progress during initial P.O.S.T., you can monitor it by tip console (e.g. use laptop, connect system serial MGT.).
